On November 2nd, 2023, 3 years 5 months after the Minneapolis police 3rd precinct was burned in the days after George Floyd’s murder, City Council has voted 8-5 to approve a replacement site. Now called a “Community Safety Center”, the plan is to rebuild a half mile away at 2633 Minnehaha Av.
Crime victims and the families of held a rally titled “Rally for Justice” at the Hennepin County Government Center this afternoon. Sharing stories of frustration with the leniency and in some cases the lack of any charges by County Attorney Mary Moriarty.
