Winston Smith Protest, Lake & Girard, Uptown Minneapolis

Protesters gather at the intersection of Lake Street and Girard Avenue in Uptown Minneapolis on the four-month anniversary of Winston Smith's death. Smith, a Black man, was killed by federal law enforcement officers on June 4, 2021, on top of a parking garage at this location. The protest is part of ongoing demonstrations and vigils held in Minneapolis following Smith's death and in response to police brutality.
