Minnesota National Guard at Allianz Field, St. Paul

Minnesota National Guard Humvees and personnel are stationed outside Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota. This deployment occurred during "Operation Safety Net," a security measure implemented in response to the Derek Chauvin murder trial in April 2021. The presence of military vehicles and personnel underscored the heightened security concerns and potential for civil unrest in the Twin Cities following the trial and the murder of George Floyd in 2020. Allianz Field, a soccer stadium, was repurposed as a security perimeter during this period.
