Minnehaha Liquors Fire, Lake Street, Minneapolis Uprising

The Minnehaha Liquors building on Lake Street in Minneapolis is engulfed in flames during the civil unrest of May 2020, which followed the murder of George Floyd. This commercial structure, a fixture in the Lake Street corridor, also housed Midori's Floating World Cafe. While Minnehaha Liquors was destroyed, the cafe's portion of the building survived the fire. Midori's Floating World Cafe has since relocated a few blocks down Lake Street to a new space, continuing its service to the community.
