Arson-Damaged Wendy’s Sign, South Minneapolis

Melted wendy’s sign after Minneapolis riots
The melted and torn sign of a Wendy's restaurant stands on Minnehaha Avenue in South Minneapolis. This damage resulted from arson during the widespread protests and civil unrest that followed the May 25, 2020, death of George Floyd. The restaurant was among numerous businesses in the area that sustained significant damage or were destroyed during this period. Above the damaged Wendy's sign, a new sign for 'Quruxley Restaurant' is visible, indicating a change in tenancy or rebuilding efforts at the site.
Photo taken in July 2020.
