Calhoun Square, Minneapolis: Post-Unrest Boarded Windows

Painted boards and lit up Calhoun Square sign
Calhoun Square, now known as Seven Points, is a commercial complex located at Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue in Uptown Minneapolis. Following the civil unrest in Minneapolis after the May 25, 2020 death of George Floyd, its ground-floor windows were boarded and adorned with community murals. These artworks served as expressions of solidarity and resilience during a period of significant social change. The complex's renaming to Seven Points in 2020 reflects a broader movement to address historical naming conventions in the city.
