Tokyo Big Sight Convention Center, Ariake Waterfront
The Tokyo Big Sight convention center, officially the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, is a prominent architectural landmark in the Ariake waterfront district, designed by AXS Satow and completed in 1996. Its distinctive inverted-pyramid conference towers and geometric, titanium-clad forms reflect the futuristic aesthetic of Tokyo's bay area redevelopment in the 1990s. Serving as a major hub for trade fairs, expos, and cultural events, the center was part of a larger initiative to revitalize reclaimed land along Tokyo Bay. Today, Tokyo Big Sight remains a vital venue for international commerce and a significant element of the city's contemporary architectural landscape.
