On November 2nd, 2023, 3 years 5 months after the Minneapolis police 3rd precinct was burned in the days after George Floyd's murder, City Council has voted 8-5 to approve a replacement site. Now called a "Community Safety Center", the plan is to rebuild a half mile away at 2633 Minnehaha Av.

A protester at a rally outside the Hennepin County Courthouse with a sign that reads “All Crops Are Derek Chauvin”. Those at the rally are asking for Hennepin Attorney Mary Moriarty to charge the Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Londregan in the killing of Ricky Cobb II. Cobb was killed on July 31 after being shot during a traffic stop.
