US Bank Stadium

U.S. Bank Stadium: Home of the Minnesota Vikings in Downtown Minneapolis

U.S. Bank Stadium is a fixed-roof, multi-purpose stadium located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Construction began in December 2013 on the site of the former Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, and the venue officially opened in 2016. Designed by HKS Architects and built by Mortenson, the stadium incorporates over 19,000 tons of structural steel and spans approximately 1.75 million square feet.

The stadium serves as the home of the Minnesota Vikings NFL team and hosts a range of sporting and entertainment events. Its distinctive angular architecture and translucent ETFE roof are intended to reference both Nordic shipbuilding traditions and Minnesota's winter climate. U.S. Bank Stadium is noted for its advanced engineering, including large glass curtain walls and complex roof trusses.

Located in the Downtown East neighborhood, the stadium anchors a prominent section of the city's urban core, adjacent to the Wells Fargo Towers, The Armory, and the historic Mill District. Since opening, it has hosted major events such as NFL games, concerts, and national tours, playing a significant role in the region's cultural and economic life.
