Abandoned Dixie Brewery

Photographs of the vacant Dixie Brewery complex in New Orleans showing interiors, machinery, tanks, gates and graffiti

Photographs document multiple areas of the Dixie Brewery complex in New Orleans, including large interior production rooms, concrete tanks, external facades and ornate wrought-iron gates. Images show industrial machinery, ventilation fans, rows of concrete vats, piles of trash bags, exposed piping, peeling paint and broken multi-pane windows. Exterior views show weathered brickwork, rusted metal staircases, overgrown vegetation and graffiti including the text "NOPD R NAZI"; other signs in the set read "NICK'S ORIGINAL", "BIG TRAIN" and a window sign reads "WOOD." The brewery originally opened in 1907 and ceased operations after Hurricane Katrina; the site has remained largely vacant and is the subject of redevelopment and preservation discussion.
