Protest at Federal Courthouse, Minneapolis, July 23, 2020

Protesters gathered outside the Warren E. Burger Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in downtown Minneapolis on July 23, 2020. The protest addressed the deployment of federal officers to cities across the United States, a contentious issue during the broader period of civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd. Completed in 1897, the Warren E. Burger Federal Building is a significant example of Romanesque Revival architecture, housing federal courts and administrative offices. Its prominence as a site of federal authority makes it a frequent location for public protests concerning national policies and justice.
