Powderhorn Park Eviction Encampment, Minneapolis

A large encampment of tents occupies the grounds of Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis. This temporary community formed following the eviction of many residents from "The Sanctuary" at the Sheraton Hotel. The encampment underscored the severe challenges of homelessness in Minneapolis, a situation exacerbated by the social and economic disruptions that followed the George Floyd protests. It functioned as a critical, albeit temporary, shelter and support network for individuals without permanent housing.
