MN Guard & Police, Minneapolis 1st Precinct Barricade
The Minneapolis Police 1st Precinct in Downtown Minneapolis was secured with extensive barricades, including concrete barriers, fencing, and barbed wire, following the George Floyd protests. Minnesota National Guard soldiers and Minneapolis Police officers were stationed at the perimeter, managing access to the facility. These security measures were implemented in May and June 2020 to protect the precinct during the widespread civil unrest and protests that occurred across the city. The presence of both law enforcement and military personnel underscored the heightened security environment in Minneapolis during this historically significant period.
