Protester outside Hennepin County Courthouse after Kim Potter verdict
Protesters gathered outside the Hennepin County Courthouse in Minneapolis following the verdict in the trial of former Brooklyn Center Police Officer Kim Potter. Potter was found guilty on all charges of manslaughter in connection with the April 11, 2021, shooting death of Daunte Wright. The courthouse, officially known as the Hennepin County Government Center, serves as the administrative center for Hennepin County and houses its court system. The verdict and subsequent protests highlighted ongoing tensions surrounding police conduct and racial justice in the United States.
