Painted boards and graffiti adorn the exterior of the former K-Mart building on Lake Street in South Minneapolis. This artwork emerged in the aftermath of the 2020 protests, when many businesses boarded up their windows and walls, which subsequently became canvases for public expression. The murals, including the prominent "LOVE YOUR ENEMY" graffiti and a piece stating "JUSTICE FOR FLOYD NOW," reflect themes of community resilience, social justice, and remembrance. The former K-Mart, a significant commercial structure in the area, has since been slated for redevelopment, making these temporary art installations a historical record of a specific period in the city's history.
