Minneapolis Midtown Greenway Rules Sign After Eviction

Keep the greenway enjoyable for all sign
A new regulatory sign stands on the Minneapolis Midtown Greenway, a 5.5-mile-long rail-to-trail urban corridor in Minneapolis, Minnesota, dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists. The sign lists rules including prohibitions against sleeping, camping, and erecting structures like tents or tarps. Its installation followed the eviction of a large homeless encampment from the greenway on December 17th and 18th. These new rules replaced previous notices concerning encampment safety, indicating a policy change regarding unsheltered individuals utilizing the public space. The Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority (HCRRA) manages the greenway, aiming to maintain it as a multi-use trail for public enjoyment.
