Minnesota State Capitol at Dusk, January 6
The Minnesota State Capitol building in St. Paul is illuminated at dusk on January 6, 2021. This date is significant as it marks the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., an event that prompted heightened security measures nationwide. The Minnesota State Capitol, designed by architect Cass Gilbert, was completed in 1905 and serves as the seat of government for the state of Minnesota, housing the Minnesota Legislature and the offices of the governor. Its Beaux-Arts architecture features a prominent dome and is a symbol of the state's governance.
