Minnehaha & Lake Street, Minneapolis, Post-Fire

Intersection of Minnehaha and Lake Street after riot
The intersection of Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis is shown in July 2020, following extensive fire damage. This commercial and civic hub was home to an AutoZone store, Minnehaha Liquors, and the Minneapolis Police Third Precinct station. All these structures were destroyed during the protests that occurred in May 2020, in response to the murder of George Floyd. The photograph captures the area at night, with temporary fencing and streetlights illuminating the cleared lots, indicating the initial phase of recovery and rebuilding in the urban environment.
