Hennepin County Government Center Barricades, Minneapolis Curfew

The Hennepin County Government Center, located at 800 South 6th Street in downtown Minneapolis, serves as the administrative and judicial hub for Hennepin County. Concrete barricades and traffic cones were erected on the street in front of the building. These security measures were implemented just prior to a city-wide curfew. The curfew was enacted in response to widespread protests and civil unrest that followed the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police on May 25, 2020. The presence of these barriers underscores the heightened security around government facilities during this period of significant public protest.
