Protestors outside Hennepin County Courthouse after Kim Potter verdict
Protestors gathered outside the Hennepin County Courthouse in Minneapolis following the verdict in the trial of former Brooklyn Center Police Officer Kim Potter. Potter was found guilty on all counts of manslaughter in the shooting death of Daunte Wright on April 11, 2021. The courthouse, officially known as the Hennepin County Government Center, serves as the seat of county government and a primary judicial center for the region. The verdict and subsequent protests highlighted ongoing tensions surrounding police conduct and racial justice in the Twin Cities.
