Emergency Eyewash Sign in Abandoned Houston Basement
An "Emergency Eyewash" sign, manufactured by Encon in Houston, Texas, is affixed to the wall of an abandoned basement. The accompanying "CAUTION" sign indicates that the space must be kept clear at all times, suggesting it may have been a service area or storage space requiring access. Such eyewash stations are critical safety equipment in industrial or laboratory settings where exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible. Their presence in an abandoned space hints at the former industrial or commercial use of the building, now left to decay.
