George Floyd Square Campfire, Minneapolis, April 2011

A campfire burns at George Floyd Square in Minneapolis, April 2021. The site, located at the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, became a focal point for protests following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. The area was renamed "The People's Way" by activists and served as a space for community gatherings and continued demonstrations against racial injustice. The "Peoples Way" signage visible on the building in the background refers to this renaming.
