Barricades at the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office

Concrete barricades were installed around the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office in downtown Minneapolis in anticipation of the Derek Chauvin murder trial. The trial, which began in March 2021, followed the death of George Floyd in May 2020, an event that sparked widespread protests and unrest. The security measures were put in place to protect the building and its staff during a period of heightened public attention and potential civil disturbance.
