A wooden roller coaster structure at Six Flags New Orleans stands damaged and weathered under a cloudy sky. A yellow caution sign reads "CAUTION KEEP HANDS INSIDE VEHICLE." The amusement park, located in eastern New Orleans, was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. The park has remained closed and largely abandoned since the storm, becoming a symbol of the city's struggle to recover.
