Minneapolis police officers remove barricade materials from a truck on W Lake St. The removal occurred during protests following the deaths of Winston Smith and Deona Marie.
Minneapolis police officers remove materials used by protesters to construct barricades on West Lake Street. The protests followed the deaths of Winston Smith on June 3rd and Deona Marie on June 13th. Smith was killed by officers from a Federal Task Force serving a warrant, and Marie was killed when a driver struck protesters demonstrating against Smith's death. The removal of barricades occurred during a period of heightened unrest and activism in Minneapolis.
