Minneapolis Skyline with Lightning Over Metrodome Site

Lightning strikes the Minneapolis skyline at night, with the Stone Arch Bridge spanning the Mississippi River in the foreground.
Lightning illuminates the Minneapolis skyline on a stormy night in 2013, as viewed from across the Mississippi River. The former Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, a multi-purpose stadium that hosted the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, is visible on the left. The Metrodome was demolished in 2019 to make way for US Bank Stadium, which now stands on the site. The Stone Arch Bridge, a former railroad bridge converted into a pedestrian walkway, spans the river in the foreground, connecting the historic Mill District to the North Loop.
