Du Nord Craft Spirits, Minneapolis, MN
Du Nord Craft Spirits, located in South Minneapolis, is a distillery that gained prominence not only for its artisanal spirits but also for its role as a gathering place during the 2020 Minneapolis Uprising. The business became a symbol of community resilience and a focal point for discussions on racial justice, particularly with signs visible in the image stating "Justice for George Floyd" and "Proudly Black-Owned." Du Nord Craft Spirits was founded by Chris and Jenny Montgomery, becoming the first Black-owned distillery in the United States.
