George Floyd Square: Signs Against Police Violence

Signs protesting police violence, including "STOP Killing Us," are displayed at George Floyd Square in Minneapolis.
Signs protesting police violence are displayed at George Floyd Square in South Minneapolis. The square, an area around the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, became a focal point for protests following the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers in May 2020. It was occupied by protesters for over two years, transforming into a space for community organizing and memorialization. The signs reflect the ongoing calls for justice and an end to police brutality that emerged from the events of 2020.
