Barricades at Hennepin Ave and Lagoon Ave, Uptown Minneapolis

Barricades were erected at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lagoon Avenue in Minneapolis's Uptown neighborhood during the unrest that followed the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. These barriers were part of a larger effort to control access to areas experiencing protests and civil disturbances. The Minneapolis Uprising saw widespread demonstrations and activism across the city, with Uptown becoming a focal point for many of these events. The presence of barricades, along with other temporary structures and debris, marked the altered urban landscape during this period of significant social and political upheaval.
