Shared mobility bikes and scooters from Lime and Spin are seen behind a newly installed fence along the Midtown Greenway path in Minneapolis, beneath the Interstate 35W overpass. This section of the multi-use path, a vital east-west bicycle and pedestrian corridor, was closed following a mass shooting that occurred hours earlier, claiming five victims. The closure also addressed ongoing concerns regarding open drug use that had been prevalent along this segment of the Greenway throughout the summer. The Midtown Greenway, a former railway corridor, serves as a significant urban greenway and bike trail, connecting various neighborhoods and providing a crucial transportation route for cyclists and pedestrians in Minneapolis.
