Centre Village rises over downtown Minneapolis at Second Avenue South, a mixed-use high-rise completed in 1984 that combines residential units with commercial space. The Hyatt Place hotel occupies part of the same complex, serving business travelers and visitors to the city center. Both buildings sit within blocks of the Mississippi riverfront and the Central Business District, an area built up largely in the 1980s as downtown Minneapolis added residential towers alongside its office core.
