Target Field opened in 2010 as the home of the Minnesota Twins, ending the team's 28-year run at the Metrodome. The ballpark seats about 38,800 and was built from Minnesota-quarried limestone at a cost of roughly $545 million. Beyond the outfield, downtown Minneapolis rises with the 57-story Wells Fargo Center and the 775-foot IDS Center, the tallest building in the state since its 1972 completion. The twin smokestacks near the ballpark belong to a district energy plant that supplies steam heat to much of downtown.
