The Lowry Avenue Bridge connected north and south Minneapolis across the Mississippi River. Built in 1905 as a steel truss structure, the bridge served the city for over a century. Structural deterioration led to its closure in April 2008, and it was demolished by controlled explosions in June 2009 to make way for a replacement.

The Lowry Bridge, a tied-arch bridge spanning the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Opened in 1929, it was originally named the "Great Northern Railway Bridge" and served as a vital rail crossing. The bridge was reconstructed and renamed in 1987.

The Lowry Avenue Bridge crosses the Mississippi River, linking Minneapolis's Camden and Northeast neighborhoods. The current span opened in 2012, replacing an earlier bridge that closed in 2008 after a barge struck and damaged one of its piers. The bridge lit up blue and yellow in solidarity with Ukraine in 2022.
