Freewheel Bike operates a shop location along the Midtown Greenway, a converted rail corridor that runs roughly five miles through south Minneapolis. The building also carries signage for the Midtown Bike Center, which has offered repair services, rentals, and secure bike parking for commuters using the trail. The Greenway sits in a former railroad trench built for the Milwaukee Road, later repurposed for bicycle and pedestrian use starting in the 2000s.

The Freewheel Bike Center, a bicycle shop located on the Midtown Greenway in Minneapolis, stands boarded up. This measure was taken during the widespread protests and civil unrest that followed the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. Posters calling for 'Justice for Calvin Horton' are affixed to the plywood, referencing a man allegedly killed by a pawn shop owner during the same period of unrest. Hennepin County later announced it would not prosecute the case due to a stated lack of evidence.
