A worker clears fresh snow from a downtown Minneapolis sidewalk with a walk-behind snow blower, working past a U.S. Bank branch. Minnesota's first significant snowfall of the 2020-21 season arrived in mid-November, catching the Twin Cities before many businesses had switched from fall to winter maintenance routines. Downtown property managers and city crews typically have a matter of hours to clear walkways after a storm, since Minneapolis code requires adjacent property owners to keep public sidewalks passable.
