The Lowry Avenue Bridge, a steel truss structure in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was originally constructed in 1905. Over its century of service, the bridge underwent substantial repairs and modifications. It was closed to traffic on April 25, 2008, due to structural concerns. The bridge was ultimately demolished by controlled explosions on June 21, 2009, making way for a replacement structure.
