The Series 2000 is the newest rolling stock on Tokyo Metro's Marunouchi Line, introduced in 2019 to replace the aging Series 02 fleet. Tokyo Metro designed the trains with a red-and-white livery inspired by the line's original 1954 cars, though station platform doors and car exteriors elsewhere on the system are often finished in the line's signature yellow. Each ten-car train runs fully automated under ATO, with drivers on board mainly to operate doors and handle emergencies. The Marunouchi Line connects Ikebukuro and Ogikubo via central Tokyo hubs including Tokyo Station and Shinjuku, carrying more than 700,000 passengers daily. Numbered door markers, like the one shown, help riders line up in the correct spot for boarding on crowded platforms.
