Fisherman on Cedar Lake, Minneapolis
A lone fisherman casts a line into Cedar Lake in Minneapolis on September 11, 2024. Cedar Lake is one of the city's Chain of Lakes, a system of lakes and parkland that forms a significant recreational area within the urban environment. The Chain of Lakes, including Cedar Lake, was developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as part of Minneapolis's "City Beautiful" movement, transforming swampland into accessible public spaces. Today, the lakes and surrounding parkways are heavily utilized for activities such as fishing, boating, cycling, and walking, contributing to the city's quality of life and offering a natural respite.
