Daunte Wright Mural on Lake Street, Minneapolis at Night

A mural honoring Daunte Wright is displayed on Lake Street in Minneapolis. The mural appeared following Wright's death on April 11, 2021, during a traffic stop in nearby Brooklyn Center. The trial for former Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter, who was charged with first and second-degree manslaughter in connection with Wright's death, was scheduled to begin on November 30th of the same year. The mural is painted on the boarded-up storefront of a business on Lake Street, a commercial corridor that experienced significant damage and unrest following Wright's killing and the murder of George Floyd in 2020.
