On October 3, 2026, a coalition of unions and community groups marched through Downtown Minneapolis, MN in solidarity with the Minnesota 15 — activists arrested during Operation Metro Surge, a federal immigration enforcement action that drew widespread condemnation across the state.
The march made two planned stops: one outside Target's corporate headquarters, where organizers demanded the company sign the Democracy Pledge, and one outside the Federal Courthouse, where speakers called for all charges against anti-ICE protesters to be dropped.
Speakers also addressed what organizers described as a six-year pattern of attacks on journalists covering protests in Minneapolis, MN, framing press freedom as inseparable from the right to demonstrate.
