George Floyd Square: The 24 Demands on Barricades

Barricades at George Floyd Square in Minneapolis display "The 24 Demands" in March 2021, a list of policy changes and actions sought by activists following the murder of George Floyd. The demands cover a range of issues including accountability for law enforcement, community investment, and the closure of the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue until the trials of the officers involved. This area became a focal point for protests and community organizing in the wake of Floyd's death, with activists establishing a zone to advocate for systemic change.
