Karasuma Oike Station is an underground transfer station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway, situated beneath the intersection of Karasuma-dōri and Oike-dōri in central Kyoto. The station serves as the meeting point between the Karasuma Line, which opened in 1981, and the Tōzai Line, added in 1997 to create a cross-city transfer hub. Platform 2 serves Tōzai Line trains bound for Kokusaikaikan, connecting riders to destinations in northern Kyoto. The station's central location makes it one of the busiest interchange points in the city's subway network.
