Minneapolis Police 1st Precinct Concrete & Razor Wire

The Minneapolis Police 1st Precinct station in Downtown Minneapolis, located on N 4th Street, is fortified with concrete blocks and razor wire. These security measures were installed following the widespread protests and civil unrest in late May and early June 2020, which occurred after the death of George Floyd. The fortification was a direct response to the burning of the Minneapolis Police 3rd Precinct station approximately ten days prior, during the height of the Minneapolis Uprising. The barriers served to protect the facility and its personnel amidst the ongoing public outcry and calls for police reform.
