Green Roof of Target Center & Target Field, Minneapolis

The green roof of the Target Center in Downtown Minneapolis is prominently featured, with Target Field visible in the background. Completed as part of a major renovation between 2009 and 2011, the Target Center's extensive green roof helps manage stormwater runoff and reduce the urban heat island effect. The Target Center, which opened in 1990, serves as a multi-purpose arena for sports and entertainment events, including as home to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx. Adjacent to it, Target Field opened in 2010 as the outdoor home of the Minnesota Twins baseball team, marking a return to open-air baseball in the city.
