Invalidenstraße runs through the Mitte district of Berlin, near the Charité Campus Mitte medical complex. The tall building visible along the street is part of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, a university hospital founded in 1710 and among the largest in Europe. The hospital operates multiple campuses across Berlin and is affiliated with both Humboldt University and the Free University of Berlin. Invalidenstraße itself dates to the 18th century and historically connected central Berlin to the Wedding and Moabit neighborhoods.
