The bronze George Washington statue in Washburn Fair Oaks Park was pulled from its base and left splashed with red and yellow paint, with "LAND BACK!" written across its side. The statue was dedicated in 1897, a gift to the city from the Daughters of the American R. It depicted Washington on horseback and had stood in the park for over a century before it was toppled.
