St. James's Park Lake and the London Eye in Westminster. St. James's Park, one of London's eight Royal Parks, was originally established by Henry VIII in the 16th century and later redesigned by John Nash in the 1820s. The park's lake, with its central fountain, was part of Nash's landscaping that connected Buckingham Palace and Whitehall. Completed in 1999, the London Eye, a cantilevered observation wheel, offers panoramic views of the city and stands in contrast to the park's tranquil atmosphere.
