Minneapolis Armory: Pre-Renovation Interior View

The Minneapolis Armory, a historic Art Deco structure, viewed from its interior before renovation, showing the vast space and exterior city lights.
The Minneapolis Armory, a historic structure in downtown Minneapolis, is seen here in its pre-renovation state. Originally built in 1935 as a Works Progress Administration project, it served as a venue for sporting events, concerts, and military gatherings. The building's distinctive Art Deco architecture and massive interior space made it a significant landmark. In the years leading up to its renovation into a modern concert venue, the Armory stood vacant, awaiting a new purpose.
