George Floyd Graffiti, Midtown Greenway, Minneapolis at Night

Really big GEORGE FLOYD graffiti on Midtown Greenway
Graffiti commemorating George Floyd is visible on a retaining wall along the Midtown Greenway in Minneapolis, photographed on August 22, 2020. This artwork emerged in the aftermath of the widespread protests and civil unrest that followed Floyd's murder in May 2020. The Midtown Greenway is a 5.5-mile-long rail-to-trail path, converted from a former railway corridor, that serves as a vital transportation and recreational corridor through South Minneapolis. Such public art became a significant form of expression during the period, transforming urban spaces into sites of remembrance and protest.
