Welsh Dragon Emblem, Cambria Store, Downtown Minneapolis
Illuminated Welsh dragon symbol on Cambria storefront in downtown Minneapolis.
The Y Ddraig Goch, or Welsh Dragon, has appeared on the national flag of Wales since 1959, though its use as a symbol of Welsh identity dates back centuries, tied to the legendary red dragon of medieval folklore and the House of Tudor. Cambria — the Latin name for Wales — takes its own name from this heritage, a nod adopted by the Minnesota-founded countertop company for its brand identity. The Minneapolis location sits in the city's downtown core, one of several Cambria retail and design showrooms across the country where customers select quartz surfacing for kitchens and bathrooms.
